An independent and global perspective
of the financial markets and the world economy

My concerns, several years ago, regarding the American housing bubble and the impending crisis have been acknowledged publicly by two of Australia’s most highly respected independent investment commentators.

If only I’d listened to the bears such as…Jonathan Pain and got out a year ago, or even six months ago, I’d be ok.

Alan Kohler, Publisher of Eureka Report and Business Spectator, said in the Eureka Report, published on October 13 2008

Some saw the impending crisis, others claim they did…closer to home there was Jonathan Pain…at every presentation in 2005 and 2006 Jonathan used the Robert Shiller chart of U.S house prices from 1890 to 2005 which showed that America was experiencing a housing bubble. In his January 2006 Pain Report, he wrote, the imbalances in the U.S are simply unsustainable. Why did no one listen and why were more not saying this.
